Since 2017, the North Carolina Local News Lab Fund has invested more than $5 million in direct grants to 50+ organizations, reaching more than half of North Carolina’s 100 counties.

From the Qualla Boundary to Corolla, our grant partners are actively shaping the future of North Carolina’s news and information ecosystem.

From investigating and documenting the issues that North Carolina’s communities are facing, to implementing innovative programming that closes information gaps across race, class, and geography our network provides a snapshot of both the emerging challenges and the solutions we need for a more resilient and inclusive North Carolina.
